CMAC Transportation and SWCRC Launch Scholarship and Announce First Recipient

Brownstown, MI – CMAC Transportation has partnered with the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber (SWCRC) to launch the Empower Your Dreams initiative, a scholarship program designed to support women-owned startup small businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout Downriver. This initiative fully funds 20 first-year Chamber memberships, providing recipients with access to valuable networking opportunities, marketing support, discount programs, mentorship, and essential business resources.

CMAC Transportation and SWCRC are excited to announce The Suite Escape, owned by Krystal Woody, as the first recipient of the Empower Your Dreams scholarship. Located inside B Suites in Wyandotte, The Suite Escape is a premier beauty haven dedicated to enhancing natural beauty with precision and care.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

With 22 years of experience, Krystal Woody is a licensed professional cosmetologist specializing in personalized hair services, including custom highlights, seamless balayage, precise grey coverage, and Halo Couture-certified extensions for added length and volume. Additionally, she offers expert facial waxing and the latest Brow Code stain technique for beautifully defined brows.


"This scholarship has provided an amazing opportunity for me to grow my business and connect with a strong network of local professionals," said Krystal Woody, owner of The Suite Escape. "I am incredibly grateful for the support from CMAC Transportation and SWCRC, and I look forward to bringing my passion for beauty services to the Downriver community."

About the Empower Your Dreams Scholarship


The Empower Your Dreams initiative, funded by CMAC Transportation, provides 100% first-year SWCRC memberships to women-owned small businesses and women-founded nonprofit organizations. Qualified applicants must:


  • Be physically located within the 21 municipalities served by the SWCRC

  • Have no more than 1-3 full-time equivalent employees

  • Be a first-time SWCRC applicant with no prior membership history

  • Have been in operation for five years or less at the time of application

  • Apply on a first-come, first-served basis, as scholarships are limited
